Why do I see different ADA address formats?

Modified on Tue, 20 Jan at 3:33 PM

On the Cardano (ADA) network, two address formats are normal, and both belong to your wallet:

  • Byron Address — Starts with "Ddz…", older format, no staking support.
  • Shelley Address — Starts with "addr1…", current standard, supports staking and rewards.

Funds are safe on both. Use Shelley for staking.
